Suncoast Voices for Children works on the front-end to help keep children out of foster care as well as to help those already within the system. Since 2004 we’ve helped thousands because we believe, if the parents can’t care for them, the community must. Every year there are as many as 3,000 children in found danger from adults in our community.
Child Protection Investigators in Pasco and Pinellas Counties identify children in danger and the needs the State does not meet. We then provide items that can keep them from becoming foster children – like their very own beds, or lockboxes to lock up guns and medications, or door alarms to prevent them from running into danger.
For children in foster care, Case Managers identify the children and their unmet needs. These children often leave home with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Most suffer failure in school. More than half never get to play after school sports or go on school trips or camping. We meet those needs.
