Ahoy Friends and Neighbors.
This is the hardest notice I have had to write to all of my loyal friends and customers since the inception of Maximo Seafood Shack on May 8, 2011. This morning, the management of Maximo Marina notified me that Maximo Seafood Shack must be off premise by August 1, 2016. Needless to say I am saddened and a bit shocked by the sudden news as I was told a few months ago that the dock in which the Shack sits on would be the last piece to be renovated, and that they would try to work with us to create a new Shack on the land near the front parking lot.
The management also expressed their excitement about tearing down the marina and building a mega yacht facility, insisting that the community, the mayor and the city is on board with their plans. At this point I am uncertain about the time frame at which I will be closing the doors to Maximo Seafood Shack; however I am certain it will be necessary to do so before August 1st. Maximo Seafood Shack is one of the last true fish houses left in Florida. With that said, I hope to see you all on the dock before we are forced to shut down this truly unique and special piece of Florida history.
